OAU STUDENT UNION PARLIAMENT SUSPENDS SUG PRESIDENT AND FINANCIAL SECRETARY, P.R.O ISSUES PUBLIC STATEMENT

The controversy that generated over the SUG president purchasing a 14 seated Toyota Hiace bus without the knowledge of other executives and the permission of the Parliament has led to students forming a group to mount pressure on the Parliament Speaker to convene a session. The Parliament Speaker finally convened a session on Monday, June 3rd.  Deliberations in Parliamentary session  saw to the suspension of the President and Financial Secretary over Procedural error and Constitutional Aberration.

The year 1967 would be forever etched as one of the darkest years in Nigerian history in the hearts of Nigerians as the massacres that would go on to birth the Nigerian civil war took place. 50 years later and Nigerians are celebrating the date, not because of its tragedies however but because the country’s most enterprising state, Lagos state was created.
